Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
This week Mike shines the spotlight on two deliveries, a Stingray that was delivered at the Maryland dealership, and a Z06 with Z07 delivered to one happy gal at the National Corvette Museum. We can imagine both owners being over the moon happy with their new Corvettes! As far as vintage photos go, Mike shares some fantastic pics of his future wife’s first Corvette ride! Check out the full collection of vintage and throwback photos and let us know your favorites in the comments below.

~Next Saturday eve, April 1st …I fly out to Nevada for three full classes for 54 of my Criswell Corvette customers from all over the globe. They will join me for their C8 Corvette owners school. The night before their first class I will host a pizza dinner party so that everyone can meet each other and it’s a great forum for questions and answers. My next three classes of 54 customers will be held the first week of October.
Such an incredible experience for all involved and as always I will have some surprise guests…and possible Adam’s Polishes gifts as Adam Pitale himself will be joining me for the 3rd time! Big shoutout to the entire staff at Spring Mountain Racetrack and thank you to the Management (Todd Crutcher and Rick Malone) for allowing me to create this opportunity for my customers to come all together, this all started 9 years ago! Since 80% of my Corvette business is all across the country this has turned out to be a great way to meet everyone.
~GM loves this story because of what I do for a living. The first picture is my wife as a day old baby coming home from the hospital in her fathers 1957 Corvette circa November 1960. The earlier pics are at U of Vermont as students and then they drove down to Daytona Beach while my Mother in law was 6 months pregnant Summer of 1960. He bought it as a year old vehicle ( I have the sales invoice) and proceeded to put 105,000 miles on it in almost 4 years. Sold it after baby #2 came along.
1964 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray ‘GM Styling Special’
This one-off Corvette was custom-built by GM Styling under famed design chief Bill Mitchell, especially for the famed industrialist and Indianapolis racing sponsor Ozzie Olson of Olsonite fame. Among its special modifications including custom floor grates that were a trademark feature of the GM Styling specials, this Corvette received six taillights, pearlescent blue paint, modified lower front fenders, and side-mounted exhaust pipes, foreshadowing their 1965 production release. The side-mounted exhaust pipes were originally simulations. Functional side-exit exhaust pipes did not appear as production items until 1965, but several of the Mitchell Corvette specials had a variety of such pieces that eventually evolved into the first production systems. Highly equipped with options including air conditioning and powered by a 300 hp, 327 cu. in. V8 with a Powerglide transmission, this Corvette is part of another fascinating chapter in the story of Bill Mitchell and his GM Styling Studio. ~March Madness, even though I graduated from University of Maryland…I have to root for Michigan State this evening. Check out the personalized MSU basketball signed to me by head Coach Tom Izzo…much respect!
~Just received this cool picture from a Florida customer of mine. Seems the 2007 Corvette owner chose to go 100mph as the odometer clicked over the 100,000 mile mark. Ya don’t see this very often!
~Only 1,000 1996 Corvette Grand Sports were built and here is #1 being delivered. Option code Z16. 810 were coupes and 190 convertibles. Z16 for a coupe cost $3,250 and Z16 on the convertibles cost $2,880. I included a picture of a full box of NOS 1996 Corvette brochures that I have in my collection. John Heinricy taking delivery of 1996 Grand Sport No. 1 in December of 1995. Before he took delivery of this car it was his pilot car for 7500mi. ~Tracy T. of Shirley, New York is Tim T’s brother and you may recognize Tim as he recently took home a Black Z06. Tracy and Tim left their Long Island home at 3am with the 6500 rollback that I sold Tim last year and I met them at the dealership at 7:45am so I could get them signed, paid and loaded up for the 5 hour road trip back to Long Island. The Red Mist 2023 Corvette Z51 convertible looks brilliant in the sunlight. It will go well with Tracy’s Supersonic Blue C6! Equipment list: 3LT, Natural dipped interior, front lift, magnetic ride, spectra gray wheels and much more.
~Rebecca M. of Newport, Tennessee is overjoyed as today she had the museum delivery experience for her new Torch Red 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible. The red carpet was rolled out and the forecast of rain was not going to wipe the smile off her face. Equipment list: 3LZ, Adrenaline red interior, torch red seat belts, stealth interior, CF painted Nacelles/roof, front lift, carbon fiber interior trim, carbon ceramic brakes, bright red calipers, black exhaust tips, Jake hood stripe, spider satin graphite aluminum wheels, TOF Carbon Aero high wing, dive planes and ground effects, Jake Logo center caps. This is one Corvette that is a car show all by itself!
